My Backpack

Ask your students what they would take of they had a big blue backpack to fill. Have them draw the pictures and cut out. Then have them write their own couplets (two lines that rhyme) to accompany each picture. For example if a student said she was going to bring her Barbie doll, she might write, "I think I'll bring my Barbie doll, I know my brother won't miss it at all."
