Love That Teaching Idea! Staff This activity takes a little preparation on your part, but once all the cards are made, it becomes a great spelling review to pull out anytime! Make 5 sets of cards so that you can divide your class up into 5 different groups. Each set of cards should be on a different color of construction paper. For each set, write one letter of the alphabet per card. Include 3 cards of each vowel and 2 cards of each consonant to make a total of 57 cards per set. Now you're ready! You may want to move the desks and chairs to the side of the room to give your groups plenty of space. Give each group a set of cards. Call out a spelling word. The first team to spell out the word on the floor correctly receives 2 points. Every other team that spells the word correctly receives 1 point. The team with the most points after all the spelling words are called, wins! |
