Love That Teaching Idea! Staff Divide your students into 5 groups. Each group is given a zip-lock bag full of "Alpha-Bits"® cereal. (Don't worry about which letters you put in, just fill the bag with random letters!) Give each group a list of the weekly spelling words. Set a timer for 5 minutes and away they go! The object is to see which group can spell the most words on the spelling list in the allotted time using their cereal. Another version is to see which group can come up with the most words using each of the letters in the bag. Note: This version is intended for coming up with any word, not just a spelling list word. The students can then enjoy eating their words after the game! |
