Keeping a List of Time-Fillers

I always keep on hand a list of time-fillers when I substitute. When there's free time, I can pull it out and refer to it. The list can include questions or current events that students can respond to aloud. Examples of questions are:

  • If you could change 1 thing about school, what would it be and why?
  • What would you like to be when you grow up?
  • If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
