A Unique Tool for Those Who are Stumped

When my students are stumped with their writing, I quietly walk over to them and hand them a "special" pencil. My "special" pencils are only used when duty calls. I then say, "Maybe my 'special' pencil will help." Sometimes just a little boost like this really helps a student who is struggling.
