"Show" Numbers With Money

Submitted by: Dana White
From: Hyrum, Utah
Date Submitted: May 5, 2001

All numbers can be represented using dimes and pennies (and they really get the tens and ones idea!) My first grade students love to "SHOW" numbers with their money. (Each child has 10 dimes and 20 pennies in a small box (mint tin) and can show the daily number with his/her money.)

In the spring students pool their money to show larger numbers. They are so SMART!
