Love That Teaching Idea! Staff After studying a unit, I divide my students into small groups of 5. I then assign each group a familiar tune such as, "Old MacDonald Had a Farm", or "Jingle Bells". They are then assigned to make up their own words to the music. When everyone is finished, they have to teach the rest of their classmates the song! I even like to type up each group's and make copies for every student to have one from each group! By putting words to music, the students retain a lot more and have fun while doing so! |
