Purchase
doggie bowls from your local discount store ($1 stores usually
have them!) Put one at the office as well as one on each teacher's
desk. Students can decorate the bowls with American flags and
write, "Project Puppy Love" on them. You may want to
show video footage of the hard work that search and rescue dogs
must give when digging through rubble. All proceeds can then go
toward purchasing dog booties. Search dogs require footwear to
hunt through rubble without injuring their paw pads. Dog boots
should be between medium (border collie) size to large (German
shepherd) size. Any other canine first aid gear, such as vet wrap
or eye/ear flush is also appreciated. Donations should be clearly
marked "Rescue Dog Supplies" with a list of contents
for categorizing and distributing. Send contributions to:
