Take
a trip to a sod farm that sells various grasses. Have the students
prepare questions for the "interview" and practice interviewing
with a partner. Provide various types of grass seeds and have
students plant several pots of grass. They can measure and track
the amount of water used, amount of growth, hours of sunlight
received, etc. This is a great way for students to learn about
plants, disease, insects. If used in conjunction with grass growing
activity, the students will enhance mathematical skills.
