Increase the age level of your Candyland game to teach color words. Make a set of game cards with the color words on them and use them to instead of the color cards to play the game as directed. This is a fun way to teach and reinforce identification of the color words.

Write the color word twice on some cards to duplicate the double cards and write the names of the pictures of the gingerbread man, candy heart, lollipop, etc. This will let your students work on phonetic awareness as well.
