Making a Children's Book

At the end of the year I have the class get into small groups and choose a topic which we have covered during the year. They use that topic and write a children's book on it, complete with illustrations and text. After completion we take a trip to a nearby elementary school and the best groups will read their books to the children at the grade level they are made for.
