Take a long strip of black construction paper about 18inches. On the left hand side put a large sticker, I use a smiley face. Laminate the strip. Make a class supply of about 10. When the children have some free time they can take these strips along with a bucket of colored cubes (unifix work well) and they can make patterns and practice patterns.
